Welcome
You are welcome in the world of Fiemme spruce.
These pages tell the story of the "tree of music", the extraordinary spruce growing in the Fiemme valley forests, among the Dolomites, Unesco's world nature heritage, in Italy. This tonewood, unique in the world for its resonant properties, is used to manufacture soundboards and tops for all classical musical instruments.
It is widely recognized that A. Stradivari, history's most famous violinmaker, chose this particular spruce to make his fascinating instruments, obtaining the extraordinary sound we can still listen to.
Today, at the heart of many famous pianos and grand pianos in the world, is a soundboard produced by Ciresa. For 50 years, in its factory located in the Fiemme valley, the firm has been manufacturing musical instruments and sound components of the highest quality.
