All the wood processed in the Ciresa's factory (Tesero - 1.000 metres above sea-level) comes from the large forests of the Fiemme Valley and the Park of Paneveggio. It is selected from spruce logs, which have particular characteristics that qualify them as tone-wood.
The spruce planks selected at the saw-mill for Ciresa are naturally seasoned in the timber yard all through a year.
After a careful selection of the planks, these are then carried to the factory in Tesero, where the wood processing starts.
After the first working of the raw planks, the seasoning is completed in a modern climatic oven, where the small planks are heat-treated for long times and at moderate temperatures, in order not to damage the internal structure of the precious spruce.
During the following processings, the wood is "purified " from knots, flaws and other defects of the grain, with a choice carried out with the visual control of specialized craftsmen.
The meticolous composition of the soundboards, fruit of great experience, allow the fulfilment of a high qualitative product.
The particular gluing method, invented by Mr. E. Ciresa, guarantees a perfect stability of the boards also under the mechanical point of view. The finishing of the soundboards is very accurate and is carried out with a modern sanding machine, normally on a thickness between 6.5 and 9 millimetres and according to the plans and the sizes of each customer.
Spruce planks, with grain characteristics qualified for the aim, are separately selected for the production of ribs (another important wooden component, which supports the tension of the soundboard).
These planks are sawn in raw bars, size 29 x 28,5 mm. and then manufactured in accordance to the plans of the customer.
